Order Farmers Market Items, On Line!

My friends Kathy & Joe (hi guys!) put together this super cool website that allows you to purchase many of the Farmers Market items on line. It's just like shopping at say, Amazon. You browse the items for sale, and place them in a cart. I have some soaps and laundry detergent listed on the site. There are other great market items as well such as, Alpaca yarn, eggs, seedlings, pork, poultry, onions, potatoes and more. Pick up will be at one of the markets in the Spring/Summer and there are delivery options during the current months. We also hope to expand and offer delivery to the Islands of Casco Bay. This is for local residents only. We can't send eggs and seedlings to FL.!

It's super convenient for those that love to shop local and support the Farmers market but maybe have trouble getting to market each week. Maybe you get out of work late on the day we are in your town, simply don't have time to shop, or maybe it's too hectic to wrangle up all the kids. You can place your order and it will be ready for pick up at the market. You just swing by the pickup location, pay and grab your bag of goodies. You will be able to pick up in Falmouth, Yarmouth, Freeport Portland, Brunswick or Cumberland (all on their select day, see bellow).

Here's some info. from the welcome page:

Maine Farm to Sea Locally Grown is a small group of growers located around Central and Southern Maine. All member farmers and crafters are dedicated to supplying their customers with the freshest and highest quality vegetables, herbs, mill products, dairy, eggs, meats, fruits, flowers, transplants and products. Participating farms vary in size and specialty, but all carry the common thread of dedication to community, environment, health and education.

Ordering Options
Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Locally Grown you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly email lists the produce, milled products, fresh flowers, and artisan goods available that week, and you can browse the items on this website before you place your order.

Placing Orders
Each Sunday evening, a list of available products is sent to everyone with an account here by e-mail. Customers must place their order for the week any time after that email goes out, but no later than Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Orders can be placed here on our website, or if need be by responding directly to the e-mail, or by phone. Ordering through our web site is Locally Grown’s preferred method as it is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes Locally Grown to process orders as well as provide you with detailed information about our products. Note: We cannot take orders from new customers any other way than through the website.
Growers receive their orders that same night and harvest accordingly.
